The Jolly Plate--Best Around for Good, Healthy Food
FRESH, LOCALLY SOURCED FOOD
Owner Kim Babcock has cultivated a menu that is well rounded and scrumptious. Additionally, she strives to serve "real food" including butter, not margarine. Enjoy organic coffee sourced from Higher Grounds Coffee in Traverse City. Good, old-fashioned lard (not some fake petroleum product) is on the griddle to fry your eggs. Kim is working with McBritton Farms in Fountain, MI and will be getting poultry products from them soon. The Jolly Plate also uses a huge portion of veggies from Little Red Organics in Freesoil, MI. Kim's vision is to keep expanding on locally grown and crafted foods and ingredients. There are even plans for a "Jolly Garden" out back to provide super-fresh herbs and veggies.
Kim is busy in the kitchen whipping up all kinds of homemade delights! People stop in just to get one of her huge cinnamon rolls, made totally from scratch and big enough to feed two or three people. Kim also makes biscuits, fresh jam, and salad dressings. Freshly made food just tastes better and the items on The Jolly Plate's menu are truly delicious. This is food you can feed yourself and your family and feel good about. It's not simply real food, it's real good food!
All the traditional breakfast items are served at The Jolly Plate, including omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, hotcakes, corned beef hash & eggs and much more. Lunchtime you can choose a burger, Jolly Club, Cuban Pork, Reuben, soups, salads, fish, and steak. The Jolly Plate even has a gluten-free Healthy Power Bowl. Cap your meal with a slice of pecan pie or carrot cake and you'll be good to go! There's even a menu for the little ones.
Stop in soon for breakfast or lunch. Have a seat under the "Giving Tree," a tree painted on the wall where you can purchase a "leaf" that will benefit a local charity or cause. Converse with one of the friendly, and well, Jolly waitstaff, and ask them to recommend their favorite dish. Bon apetit!
